Spectrum Interactive is the UK’s leading independent public access internet kiosk operator with over 1,750 kiosks nationwide. In the UK, Spectrum have built up excellent relationships with their premier clients such as BAA, working closely with its client partners to deliver a flexible and competitive service to the millions of people.

the objective

Spectrum wanted a content managed website, which they could keep updated and full of relevant information themselves. The style needed to fit with their corporate image and detail information on all their services.

An interactive map was required to show the locations of their hundreds of ‘wi-fi hotspots’ for visitors wishing to use wi-fi. This map, along with their news sections needed to be updateable by Spectrum, so a content managed system was required.

the solution

Beaver worked closely with Spectrum to develop the website, fitting with the colours and styles of their company image. The site has a small amount of Flash based animation on the pages, to add a little movement to the imagery.

The interactive map was developed by Beaver Design and shows the locations of all of Spectrum’s wi-fi hotspot locations. It is based on the popular Google Maps and users find it very easy to use. Both the map and the news section are kept up-to-date by Spectrum Interactive, through a customised content management system.

the result

Spectrum now has a stylish and functional website, which reflects their company and the markets they serve. Beaver used traditional web design techniques, along with some innovative development to create a finished product which is useable and able to grow as Spectrum does.
