the client
East Village is a club, bar & kitchen which offers food, drink and a good night out in East London. East Village was born in tribute to the many New York venues of its kind. It takes its name from the underground suburb of East Village Manhattan, making Shoreditch the perfect location for a British counterpart.
the objective
To promote East Village, two websites were needed – one for the club and one for the bar & kitchen. Whilst separate, both needed to share the playful references to modern design and urban culture. The sites needed to be updateable, so that news about new upcoming promotions and club nights could be displayed. Also, images and information about previous nights needed to be frequently added and displayed on the site.
East Village also needed Beaver Design to create and distribute their e-newsletters, which provide subscribers with news and information about the club and any promotions.
the solution
With a contemporary design, Beaver created two websites based on the style and image identity of East Village. A JavaScript based menu was created and gives the navigation of the site an intuitive and organic feel. The menu itself is designed to remain stationary in the browser, which means that even when scrolling, visitors can see the menu at all times.
A content management system was created for East Village, allowing them to update the site whenever they want to. Beaver also design, distribute and track all of the East Village e-newsletters, keeping their customers up-to-date and letting East Village know who’s interested in their promotions.
the result
The East Village website receives around 8,000 visitors a month and their e-newsletters have a subscriber list of over 13,000 people. With strong promotion of their club, bar & kitchen and good e-marketing of their business, East Village is growing as a popular venue for food, drink and good nights out.
