the client

The Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) is an Executive Agency of the Home Office, set-up to help organisations make safer recruitment decisions. The CRB acts as a ‘one-stop-shop’ for organisations, checking police records and, in relevant cases, information held by the Department of Health and the Department for Children, Schools and Families.

the objective

The CRB wanted to achieve increased communication and the ability to post news and information for all the staff based at their two locations in Liverpool. They previously relied on traditional methods, such as the intranet, emails and notice boards, to communicate messages to staff. However, when staff were away from their desks, moving around the building or just not noticing a message on a cluttered wall, messages didn’t always get through

the solution

The Beaver Group created all the content, configured all the machines and installed the entire system for the CRB throughout various locations in the UK. To keep the management of the content on the screens a simple as possible, Content templates, designed by Beaver, are populated with information from the CRB, as well as external sources such as BBC News RSS feeds. As well as internal messages and external feeds, the system also delivers live TV, integrated into the content schedule

the result

The CRB now have an expandable, integrated and effective communications network throughout their offices, and Beaver is proud to supply and support another government communications project.
