For the next few months, I will be contributing to Axis Magazine for their new Web Advice section. Axis Magazine is a high quality, free monthly magazine covering East Hertfordshire, with content focused firmly on relevant, useful local information.
This new Web Advice section will cover some of the basics of having a web presence for your business, search engine optimisation, e-marketing, e-commerce and more.
Copies of Axis Magazine are distributed by hand to selected homes and businesses, with additional copies available at selected venues and supermarkets. The first edition with the Web Advice section is available from the beginning of February.

The School Governors’ One-Stop Shop (SGOSS) “Fresh Faces” website was a finalist in the Third Sector Excellence Awards 2008. The website, design by Beaver Design, was shortlisted amongst some strong competition, but was beaten by Leonard Cheshire Disability.
The Third Sector Excellence Awards are intended to recognize and celebrate the vital work done by the voluntary sector and the role they play “as the conscience of society”.

Our long standing client East Village has worked again with Beaver Design to revamp their web site, giving it a more urban feel and distinctive look. Both parts of the site – Bar&Kitchen and Club - still feature the same innovative CMS functionality, allowing East Village to update the content themselves.
It also features a clear and easy-to-use menu system, adding a functional style to the feel of the web site.

Beaver Design has created a complete custom built website for the pharmaceutical company – Kudos Vitamins. The design of the site is easy to navigate with a clear menu. With information about Kudos Vitamins, the site also has information about how vitamin and herbal supplements can benefit particular lifestyles.
The web design features an e-commerce function, allowing visitors to browse products and order securely online. Users can log back in after their first use and see a history of previous orders, as well the website as saving their details to save time entering them again.
A major benefit of the web design for Kudos Vitamins has been the creation of a completely bespoke Content Management System (CMS) by Beaver Design. It allows Kudos Vitamins to independently control all the content of their site; altering images, lists of products available, special offer prices and product details.
It also provides further functionality to control the way the pages themselves are coded, allowing them to add keywords and alter page titles, making the site ‘search engine friendly’. A unique ‘Body Part Diagram’ for use with the product descriptions is also completely editable through CMS, adding further functionality for Kudos Vitamins.

East Village is a club, bar & kitchen, providing a whole night of entertainment in one place. Beaver Design was chosen to provide the web design, using the East Village imagery to create a site that is simple to navigate and gives its visitors plenty of information. Lightbox galleries and a JavaScript menu system were built to give the site a dynamic and intuitive feel.
East Village can update the site easily with news, images, press releases, as well as music mixes of the DJ sets, through a custom made content management system.
